I won’t pretend to be a writer. I am just sharing my thoughts on paper. I have experienced an abundance of change the last few years. It ranges from being an empty nester, new career trajectory, and a divorce. My most recent change is my milestone 50th birthday. I don’t think anyone deals with change that well or else there wouldn’t be so many books on it, or podcast that discuss it such as Mel Robins Brene Brown , Mathias J Barker to name a few (these are just some of my favorite). What I have learned from change is it is all perspective. We can look at it negatively and feel like failures, feel alone, abandoned and just flat out hate it. Or we can approach it with open arms and learn from it. I have found that it is important to find people that are relatable and follow them. Listen to their podcasts, reels, TikTok’s. Pick up a book they recommend and learn skills on how to cope with change. I have leaned into my circumstances that lead to change by listening to these professionals who choose to use these platforms and provide free content for us to take advantage of. I am comfortable with being vulnerable and relearning how to think about change. You are not alone in your circumstances. There is always someone who can relate just enough to make you feel seen and heard.
